The project

MAMA-LIGHT is a global programme aimed at providing access to affordable energy for women, children and small businesses in the informal sector.

Led by the H.R.H. Foundation’s charismatic founder, Princess Abze Djigma, the programme attaches great importance to gender equality and women’s empowerment. “When you empower women, you empower the whole of humanity” is the MAMA-LIGHT ethos.

Role of the ENGIE Foundation

The Foundation awarded a grant to support the MAMA-LIGHT programme in Burkina Faso. A total of 2,000 children (1,000 boys and 1,000 girls) will each receive a MAMA-LIGHT portable solar lamp at a local party.
