Espérance Banlieues is a network of innovative private schools that aim to provide quality education to all children from disadvantaged neighbourhoods using an educational model particularly suited to students from ZEPs (education priority areas): attentive teachers and small class sizes to encourage inclusion, help students flourish in their own areas and to develop their talents in society
Objectives:
- Combat early school leaving
- Help students earn their brevet certificates
- Provide students with a solid education and structured general knowlJob edge to help them get into high school
- In the long term, improve the neighbourhoods where the schools are located (tackle risk factors, racketeering, risks of radicalisation)
Role of the ENGIE Foundation
The ENGIE Foundation has committed over two years of financing to the project to open and sponsor a year 10 class. The aim is to help students who have dropped out of school earn their brevet certificates and to enable those who want to to get into high school.
