For the past five years, the Orchestre de Paris (resident at the Philharmonie de Paris) has been running a programme for sick children at the Robert Debré and Trousseau hospitals.
The orchestra's musicians show their instruments to the children and play them duets in order to ease their pain and loneliness and bring some light relief into their often difficult lives.
Each attendance is prepared by a professional from the not-for-profit organisation Musique & Santé. As a leading proponent of music in hospitals, Musique & Santé was commissioned by the French Ministry of Culture to develop a European inter-disciplinary resource centre on this subject.
Role of the ENGIE Foundation
The Foundation supported the Orchestre de Paris in 2016-2017.
