The project
Founded by Yannick Noah in 1996, the Fête le Mur association enables inner-city children to play tennis right in the heart of their neighborhoods, under the supervision of professionals and qualified tennis coaches.
Today, Fête le Mur is present in 140 QPVs in France and overseas, working with 13,000 young people every year, supervised by professional teams and qualified tennis coaches. Every year, 700 young people join one of its specific education and integration programs (Tous sur le court!, De l’Autre côté du Mur, Ecole d’Arbitrage et de ramasseurs, Jeu, Set et Job, de l’Autre côté du Mur, etc.).
240 supervisors in the field, 75% of whom were trained by Fête le Mur.
The role of the ENGIE Foundation
The ENGIE Foundation and Fête le Mur have been working together for 25 years to promote sport for all at the heart of local communities, enabling children in priority urban districts to play tennis and benefit from all that the sport has to offer in terms of well-being, self-fulfilment, openness to the world and professionalization.
The ENGIE Foundation supports two programs in particular:
- La journée du P’tit Fêtelemurien: a day dedicated to introducing our various educational programs to children, with fun activities such as refereeing, educational competition and food education.
- Vacances Educ’Actives: courses combining academic support, sports activities, and culture.
