The project
Cantania, a project developed by the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts (BOZAR), is first and foremost a challenge: to introduce primary school pupils in Brussels to the pleasure of singing together. It is also a crazy undertaking: putting on a real-life concert in less than a year, featuring a contemporary work written specially for Cantania. The concert, co-produced by the Belgian National Orchestra, is performed in one of BOZAR’s finest auditoriums.
Cantania is part of Singing Brussels, an initiative aimed at getting the whole of Brussels singing all year round, in which BOZAR is a stakeholder.
Role of the ENGIE Foundation
The ENGIE Group has been a key partner of BOZAR since 2003. Cantania and Singing Brussels have been supported by the Foundation since 2016, adding a social component to the existing partnership.
