The Carnavalet Museum (a museum of the history of Paris housing more works than the Louvre) has long been engaged in an ambitious programme of cultural mediation: using museum artefacts to teach French, putting on special programmes for children, and so on.
The museum is currently closed for three years (from 2016) for a major renovation, one of whose aims is to create a child's-height tour. This project, which is supported by the ENGIE Foundation, will make 400 works accessible to children in two main age groups: 3-7 and 7-13.
Role of the ENGIE Foundation
As a sponsor of the Carnavalet Museum, ENGIE is supporting the ongoing renovation. The Foundation is involved through its support for the child's-height tour project.
