The project


Bonepoupa is small village in Nkam, Cameroon. The Littoral Region is isolated and not easily accessible, and is dominated by its logging industry. The ENGIE Foundation, in partnership with the Orange Foundation, was therefore moved to support the construction of the Bonepoupa health centre and school, which was completed in 2017. The second project, led by ENGIE's in-house NGO "Energy Assistance France", aims to install nine photovoltaic panels on both buildings. The challenge is to alleviate the inadequacies of the existing power grid (only a few hours' access to electricity per week), in order to improve living conditions, healthcare and children's schooling (girls in particular).

Role of the ENGIE Foundation


The ENGIE Foundation, having supported the construction of the health centre and school, wanted to achieve end-to-end results by providing access to electricity for users of the buildings.
