The project

The Fondation A Stichting photography foundation opened in Brussels in 2012 on the site of the former Bata factories. Its aim is to promote knowledge of, and support the creation and preservation of, the photographic image. Three temporary exhibitions are held at the foundation each year. The "Découverte" ("Discovery") educational programme developed by Fondation A Stichting features meetings with exhibited photographers, guided tours, and workshops on how to read and write photographic images. It is open to children with learning difficulties, those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and pupils from 'positive discrimination' schools that take in newly-arrived refugee children.

Role of the ENGIE Foundation

The Foundation decided to support the "Découverte" programme in 2017.
