6,000 children supported

The project

In Wallonia, 25% of children under 15 live in households below the poverty line. This compares to 10% in Flanders and 40% in Brussels. These children start school at a disadvantage and are therefore more likely to drop out of education and less likely to successfully enter the world of work. Teach for Belgium believes that it doesn't have to be this way. To help address these educational inequalities, it invites recent Master's graduates to teach in disadvantaged areas for two years. Teach for Belgium is part of the Teach For All network, which is present in over 40 countries worldwide.

Role of the ENGIE Foundation

The Foundation supported Teach for Belgium in 2015-2016. It is currently supporting Teach for France.
